In fact, sustainability is so important to the State of Alaska it was written into the State Constitution in 1959, mandating that “fish…be utilized, developed and maintained on the sustained yield principle.” Alaska has always been deeply committed to ensuring that its wild, natural and sustainable seafood can be enjoyed by generations to come,” according to the Food and Agriculture Organization.
