“Congress needs to work together to pass a long-term solution to Medicare reimburse- ment, so doctors can give Medicare patients access to the affordable health care they earned and deserve,” says Friesbach in his letter. “But right now, Congress is tied up more with politics than with making sure their constituents can continue to see the doctors they depend on.”

“It’s unacceptable that seniors would be turned away by doctors that have been treating them for years because Congress is putting partisan bickering ahead of seniors’ health… Tell Rep. Young to stop putting your health security at risk and pass stable rates for Medicare doctors.”

Friesbach also confirmed the existence of a “special committee” that would help address this issue and come up with a solution before March. Without immediate action, American doctors could face a drastic 30% cut out their usual paycheck.

“There are just a few weeks before this huge cut will go into effect, so we don’t have much time to speak out. Every member of Congress needs to put pressure on this committee to protect patients’ access to their doctors,” added Friesbach.
