Marketing ARR POP Begins in Anchorage Now
Marketing Communications Officer Stephenie Wheeler has announced that the public is invited to join the Alaska Railroad’s (ARRC) open house on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 4:00-6:30 p.m at the Anchorage Historic Depot at 411 West First Avenue (Ship Creek). The main agenda of this event is to present an opportunity for concerned Alaskans to review on the proposed Program of Projects (POP) for 2012 as well as comment on continuing projects by the ARRC.

During the open house, project managers are expected to share and explain ongoing projects as well as projects proposed for this year with an emphasis on projects located in and around Anchorage. Some of the projects to be discussed are the Ship Creek Intermodal Transportation Center (Phase Two), Ship Creek Area Sewer System Extension, Anchorage Yard Locomotive Fueling / Servicing Facility, Curve Realignment and Improvement near Eklutna, Portage Section Maintenance Facility, Port MacKenzie Rail Extension, Positive Train Control , Bridge Replacements and Rehabilitation , Track Rehabilitation and Drainage Improvements and Embankment Protection.
This event is a first amongst the series of open houses to be led by the ARRC. Following the Anchorage open house will be another one in Wasilla, Fairbanks and Seward and discussions about the ARRC 2012 current and proposed projects concerning the said areas will be the hot topics.
