Last Minute Christmas Gifts Are A Snap

Choose last minute Christmas gifts either by telephone or online quickly, and have them hand delivered before Christmas Day. Christmas gift ideas are waiting for you now.  Think stuffed animals, candy, tea-cups and pots, coffee mugs, and even cookie jars, and other home decor items, with personal delivery to your loved ones.  It is not a secret, but a lot of people may not realize that our florist is not just for flowers anymore. Yes, you can still get beautiful Poinsetta plants, and an almost endless array of georgeous floral arrangements, but most have an array of other items, too.

Well, OK, Santa might not be willing to deliver your order before Christmas Eve, but someone else will. Nenana Messenger News file photo.

Imagine the joy on your loved ones faces when the floral delivery vehicle pulls up in front of each of their homes and brings up a beautifully gift-wrapped package and places it in their hands.  For both the florist and you, the presentation, and to you, the act of giving, is often-times as big a deal as the gift itself.

There is a charming cookie jar at a local Anchorage florists website which had disclaimers on the site about delivery dates, so be sure to double check before signing your money over in an online website. Some florists, but not all, also have minimum purchase amounts or small delivery fees in order to get the delivery service.

If you telephone your florist, you can be assured that, as long as you ask for Christmas delivery, that they will tell you what they have on hand in their local store.  If you are looking online at your local home-town florist, before you order, call the store and ask if they really can deliver your chosen item by Christmas Eve Day. The FTD, Teleflora and other national brand florists do have gifts online that might not be deliverable in your area at this late date in time for the holiday, but they should advise you before you push the “pay” button.

One website, a local Alaskan one, asks for when you want your order delivered, saying, “Days for which delivery is unavailable do not appear, please select an available delivery date”, and digging deeper, another disclaimer adds that “Delivery of orders to rural route addresses…” may not be available. Do your due diligence, and the holiday gift giving experience should be a happy and successful one.
